Resilient Schools Project, New DLC Membership Options, and Elementary Teacher PD Course

We’ve been busy at the Digital Learning Collaborative (DLC), and we’re taking a break from our usual news and commentary to share three new developments that may be of interest. We will be launching these soon, so if you’re interested in taking part, please email us at info@evergreenedgroup.com.

Resilient Schools Project

First, we are excited to announce the new Resilient Schools Project, a partnership with Future of School. Complete information is here. The short version is: we are launching a collaborative network of schools and districts that we will support, and that will learn from each other, as they prepare for the possibility of implementing some flavor of remote learning in the coming school year. Schools/districts that join will actively participate in bi-weekly remote discussions on all the major topics related to remote learning and continuity of instruction, including equity/access, working with students with special needs, teacher preparedness, and many other issues. Moreover, member schools of this project will have access to experts in the space and tangible resources to support them this year. The DLC will facilitate meetings, lead discussions, and develop and curate resources, among other activities. Schools or districts can join for a fee, with Future of School paying membership costs for some members and collaborating on story-telling throughout the year.

New DLC Membership Options and Benefits

We are about to launch our new DLC membership options too. We have purposely kept the DLC membership small to this point—but we are almost ready to unveil the new options. Think of this as a “sneak peek” of new membership details. We will begin accepting new members in early July.

This may be confusing because we’re talking about both DLC and RSP “membership.” Think of it this way: all RSP members will become DLC members, but not all DLC members are RSP members.

First DLC Professional Learning Course

Finally, we are also developing the DLC’s first professional learning course: Transitioning to K-6 Remote Teaching: An interactive online course for elementary school teachers. We have seen and heard about many courses to help teachers transition to remote learning, but few that focus on elementary school teachers. We know that teaching the youngest students online is different than working with older students remotely! This course addresses the basics of online instruction through the lens of how to address issues specific to younger students. It includes three facilitated, real-time sessions, which we believe are critically important for professional learning. Schools may enroll teachers to go through the course together as a cohort.

We will announce each of these as they become available for enrollment. In the meantime, please send us any questions at info@evergreenedgroup.com.
